A couple of years ago I had to replace =
the shaft
seal on my Diesel Rabbit. I used a "Federal Mogul" #17X28X7. I have not =
had any
leaking since.

[Diesel] Injector Pump is leaking...
Hi Volks,
Looks =
like
I've got a slow leak from the bottom of my injector pump.
I can't =
tell for
sure where it's coming from, but I know it's not
from the injector
lines. When I rev the Vanagon up to around 2K RPM
or so - this =
maybe
causes one drip every ten seconds or so. So it's
not a lot of =
fuel -
but I'm concerned. It eventually puddles on the
splash pan =
below, and
ends up splattering the back of the vanagon
w/ little =
markings...
Should I be concerned from a mechanical view?
Is this a big =
deal? I'm
kind of surprised, as the pump doesn't even
have 70K on it yet. =
But
then again, it *is* nearly 20 years old.
And it hasn't been driven =
much for a
good ten years. Is this something
that will eventually carbon =
up and
stop???? Anyone have any feedback?
Perhaps this a result of the =
fuel
being turned up too much?
Or is it time for a rebuild, etc. =
etc.????
Your thoughts/experience, as
always, would be greatly
appreciated!
Peace, John
