I have a question concerning the master cylinder for the cluch in = my 82 Westy.  Do I need to remove the rod that accuates the piston or can = you just swap the cylinders out?  When I took the one off or my parts = Vanagon, it (master cylinder) fell out and left the rod attached to the = pedal.  Is this normal?  Thanks in advance for any help.
