On my '89 Carat the difference =
between AC-on and
AC-off is hardly noticable in normal driving. Certainly nothing like =
your
describing. Starting from a dead stop is the same with or without the AC =
on. On
long steep grades, it can help to turn off the AC for a little extra
power.
