I'm another "double-punished" guy: Driving a 10/85 syncro TD and still looking for a good place to install the Yaesu FT-757 GX II....The antenna is a slightly modified CB-Antenna, working on 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20m. 73, DH9MK, Markus, at the moment in SV9Seems the only logical place for a relatively large unit would be between he passenger seats. For my IC-706 which is not much larger that an old style 2m mobile, I've seperated the control head from the body and mounted it, the control head, to a special arm afixed to the dash just to the left of the cigarette lighter. The body of the radio is under the driver's seat. I'm very happy with the installation.-----Original Message-----

I've been running an Alinco DR-605 dualbander and an IC-706mkll in my '85 GL Vanagon. The two sure compliment each other. The Vanagon makes a great ground plane! How many of us are bus-freaks AND radio-amateurs?
