We are wending our way across country in a new, for us, '97 EV camper. Lighting the propane source for the norcold fridge seems tricky. We turn to "start" get the requisite clicking then hold the safety button down and sometime do not either 1) get a steady green light or 2) when the button is released the green light goes off (even after holding it for a count of 15). We have been able to bypass this problem by quickly turning the control knob to "5" or coldest. The fridge otherwise works fine. Any thoughts? The Saucier Family from Yarmouth Maine Relayed from Mammoth Cave, Kentucky

The fridge is a finicky beast...........mine won't light at the start point anymore; I use the 4-5 position.   Sometimes running the stove for a minute or two helps clear any bubbles out of the gas line.  This works when the system has not been used in a while.
If the fridge fails to start up right away, I have had luck just turning it off for about 20 minutes then starting the routine again.
My box did run for about 9 months straight on my great 30,000 mile 'round America journey in '96.  The burner cup rusted out real bad and the unit had to be pulled and the rust ground off.  Seems to be no pattern to the start problem.   I do wish the unit was more reliable; but it has worked well once it starts.

Good Luck!
