Something to check when doing = routine maintenance. The muffler hanger. Mine apparently broke, but the system = on the vanagon is so short that the muffler didn't noticeably drop like it = would on a front engine vehicle. Hung fine until the catalytic converter broke from = the stress. Had I known, I could have replaced the hanger for a lot less = than the converter.
