For those of you still waiting on my 2.0 L conversion up= date...patience, as I'm still waiting for the job to be finished.
Now, to all who've been posting recently about the = "Eurospec" conversion (5 cly'ers please refer to Detlev) let me sh= are some info w/you.
First, go and visit the www.vanagongti.com Eurospec= page. Look at what they offer for their price. Then go to David Marshall's = www.fastforward.ca page. Look at what he offers. If you've got time even cal= l him, I had a number of pleasant conversations w/him and learned a lot. Aft= er this you'll discover the bottom line: the conversion uses almost exclusiv= ely stock diesel parts, diesel vanagon owners have been doing this conversio= n in their vans for years, and when you finish doing the math, you should ab= le to have a 2.0 L engine installed by a pro for near $3,000. This is awfull= y close, maybe cheaper than doing a new water-boxer, and bye, bye head leaks= . I know I make it sound too easy, but it's really not too hard.
Once again I apologize that it's taking so long, bu= t I will post all the specifics on my conversion as soon as the work is done= , in the meantime p-mail me with q's. Have a great weekend everyone.
