Mark,

I am probably showing my ignorance here, but on which side of the oil filte= r is the oil pressure measured?

Thanks,

Mike-
I am making my conclusion based upon the dreadful sound that came from the = instrument console.  My manual indicates that it will sound when oil pr= essure drops below a (specific, but unknown to me) threshold.  I only g= et the screaming banshee from the instrument console (along with the illumin= ated idiot light) when using Fram at highway speed (per my earlier post). &n= bsp;

So if you you are showing your ignorance by your post, I am confirming mine= here!  Given a 50/50 chance of being right (the pressure is either mea= sured before of after the filter point), I would guess that the determinatio= n (triggering the idiot light/banshee) is made after the filter and the filt= er's resistance to flow could cause a pressure drop that is unsuitable, if t= he filter impedes flow too much (?).  Not sure.  I only trust (but= avoid) the banshee!
