1. I am going to be putting a bunch of time and energy into the Campout at = KPFA Radio in Berkeley (I hope to be able to park Okie, our 83.5 Westy, in the = street in front of the station the next few days), in support of the station. KPFA = is in the throes of a crisis involving the national board of the Pacifica = Foundation. For those of you who don't know, KPFA, one of the last bastions of real community supported radio, was forcibly shut down, its staff locked out, = one of it's newscasters dragged forcibly from the building by armed thugs = during his live broadcast for daring to report on the activities of the governing = board. The station is currently boarded up, chained and padlocked. There is an = ongoing demonstration occupying Martin Luther King Jr. Way in front of the = station. Big benefit concert Monday night 7/19. 2. Starting on Tuesday, or at the latest on Wednesday (I hope) we will be = doing our first Eurospec engine conversion installation. We're putting the 115 HP = 2.0 tallblock in a customer's '90 Carat. We'll be documenting the procedure, = so it'll probably take twice as long as it will during later installations. = Hopefully I'll have pix of the whole project up on wagonworks.com in a = week or two. I intend to do the work myself to sort of lay the groundwork and = establish the protocols for future conversions.
