Subject: Re: Adding twin carbs to 1600 aircooled
Comments: To: pmarston@INSTECH.CO.UK

Phil; Sounds like you are on the right track. You carb choices will probably be well matched for your truck. They would provide good power at the lower RPMs where you want it. Be warned that they MIGHT drop of at higher RPMs. This should not be a problem for a daily driver. Smaller diameter exhaust pipes will keep the power curve low. I have two 40mm dual throat Webers on my 1600 356. The power band on this setup is in the upper RPMs which can be tricky as a daily driver. I have recently done some tuning to the induction system to lower the power curve to a more usable range.
