Hi, I had fumes in my 1980 Vanagon when I bought it. After a few months I traced it to the fire extinguisher the PO had mounted behind the passenger seat. The holes he drilled had gone right into the expansion tank! At least the fire extinguisher was handy to the direct vent from the fuel tank into the cabin of the bus. As you can imagine, I was afraid to light the stove! Now, I still get fumes in the cabin but only when the window is open. Any suggestions? Here are the parts already replaced: 251-201-166 breather pipe 211-611-833-D grommet 113-919-131-A gasket 251-201-139-B filler seal plus of course the fuel tank, clips, and ties. I don't do the work myself, but try to keep myself informed at the garage. Thanks for any suggestions. Jeff Palmer 85 auto Westy 1 Winnipeg Folk Fest ticket Winnipeg Canada
