Does the 1.9L waterboxer engine have a Knock Sensor in it? ie. a sensor that detects whether a lifter is "knocking"
A knock sensor detects cylinder "detonation" (a condition of the spark occurring to soon and thus the explosion pushes downward on an upward moving piston) not lifter knocks. Detonation is very bad for engine life. And no, the 1.9L does not have such a device. If you have a lifter knocking there are several suggestions others can make for remedies. You can also search the archives. Cheers, Dave C. Williamsburg, VA zzzzzzzzz__ |E[__] [__]|[_]\\ | _DC&SP | _ || * * * =-( )---------( )--= '85 GL Westy (His) '91 Cabriolet (Hers)
