hi all, the auto transmission in my 85 westy has been leaking for the last few weeks, so today I crawed under her to take a look, and found that the leak was coming from the 2nd gear brake band piston. So I popped off the cover like the manual said and pulled out the piston. One of the rubber seals were broken and the little metal clip was broken as well. so I ordered a new seal from VW dealer, put it on the piston and went to reassemble the whole thing it would not go back in. It seems that the rod in the center { that pushes the piston} was out too far to replace the cover. is there some trick to this? please any one who has any ideas let me know . thanks Alan
