To make header last, buy the S&S and send it to JetHot coatings (they have
ads in Car Craft, Hot Rod, etc) in Pascagoula MS for a heat/corrosion
resistant coating.  They may have a website...

This would raise the price by ??? but the stebro is not a header exhaust
(?).  The stebro is a muffler? or a system?  If it is a muffler you still
have the factory pipes to contend with.  And looking at the factory pipes
from a header system operations viewpoint, the RH cylinders have the "long"
exhaust primary pipes while the LH cylinders have the "short" primary pipes.
Longer pipes create power (torque) at lower RPM while shorter pipes create
power at higher RPM...  This is used in "tri-y" systems (on a V8 they are
also referred to as 4 into 2 into 1 headers) to create a broader powerband.
This also can cause/contribute to crank flexing since RH and LH work against
(?) each other...  The header has equal length pipes for each cylinder
promoting more power, smoother operation, etc.

Yes, the coating would raise the price of the header exhaust system, but it
would last longer.  But we would install a header for a particular reason,
not as an alternative to a high priced stock replacement exhaust muffler.
