Hi Alan: Try LOADS of silicone spray, and show the rubber parts who's boss. They do come apart, but I forget which piece is first. The lower suspension arm bushings are tough too - I drilled those out, then pushed them out in a vise with a mandrel (large socket). The new ones went in easy with silicone.
