Subject:      Starter hesitation
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

Hello List,

This is my first post. Been silently reading for about nine months now. Don't know if this will help but, Mom and Dad own a '86 Weekender with the same problem. I thought it might be an ignition switch with a dead spot (had a '82 scirocco that did and made the starter hesitate). Dad replaced the main battery and then the auxiliary battery both with automotive batteries (VW dealer recommended replacing auxiliary battery with regular automotive battery). I recommended a deep cycle battery per the list. But anyway after replacing auxiliary battery, a few days after the main, no more hesitation.

Thanks for all the great info!
