You're right. But as I've heard it defined, socialism is when the government runs everything, but individuals can own property. Whereas true communist countries people can't own any property. So these "free" health care systems are truly socialist ideas. But, correct me if I am wrong, isn't one of the key principles here in America capitalism? Didn't communism start out as socialism? Have you heard what people in these countries with "free" health care pay for food, gas and shelter? Give me good old capitalism any day.
Peace out,

Peder,
I have a feeling you are confused about communism. So-called free health care you are talking about is wide-spread in Europe. Does it make those countries communist? Of course not.
It's socialism. There is also low-cost housing, free food for needy etc. But we have it here too.
Welfare system. To help out those who are unfortunate. There simply aren't enough jobs to employ everibody.
Communism was never about "free" anything, just more even and fair distribution of common wealth and sharing the cost. Capitalism is based on "free market" and greed. However, some companys now days become so huge and powerful it's no longer free market but monopolies and we all end up paying hi price for fuel and other stuff.
There are few(very few) people on the list who feel we should just give away our spare parts.
Let them give away their parts.

These people are not bums, they are communists. These are the same people that want the government to give us free health care (communism). What's next free housing, free cars, free food. Everyone needs to realize that just because it is free to you, means that someone else is paying for it.Here in America we pay for what we want.Peace out,Peder'84 Westy
If I may add to what you wrote, selling on the list is allowed on the list.
So anyone who complains about it is on weak footing.
I sell things occasionally it's a service to the Vanagon community. No one
except communists or bums expect it for free. even when I have been broke, I
chose to go without rather than beg.
So, we bring back the meaning of the term bum-a person who is not willing to
work for what he wants, and thinks everyone owes him a living, or vanagon
parts for free.
But the politically correct way of addressing them is now(homeless). My Mom
used to warn when I was young-"you don't want to become like the bums on skid
road, do you"?Bums!
I have got a lot of vanagon stuff free-does that make me a bum? Well, we used
to have a junkyard, and stuff was free on the hulked vanagons heading to the
crusher...
