Subject: f/s or trade '87 syncro in Bend, OR
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Two possible deals on my '87 syncro have fallen through due to the distance between buyer and seller. I am still trying to sell or trade my reasonably clean '87 Syncro for an economy car, preferably a diesel Golf or Jetta. The Vanagon is in Bend, Oregon.

The Synco's body is straight with a few minor flaws. The motor is runs well but has a cold start clicking sound that the dealership blames on the #3 Cylinder/Lifter bleed down problem. It has 155K miles. I had the heads off about 12k ago and they looked good (not pitted). It does not use or leak antifreeze or oil. The windshield has a large crack that would need to be replaced.

It's blue with gold and silver graphics. The interior is clean, cloth captains chairs in front, cloth bench with arm rests in the back. The A/C has the recall performed to keep it on the roof but sags a bit, needs a couple of custom brackets built for the back. (I'll do that for any interested buyer before we work out a deal.)

I'm going back to college and need reliable, fuel efficient, transportation. The Syncro has been a great, reliable vehicle for five years, but I gotta do things cheaper for a while.

I would consider any trade - but would prefer to stick to the Diesel/German stuff.

I do have pics, email for them if you're interested.
