Subject: WV to ME trip - WAS: Interesting problem...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Just an update to those who assisted me with the oil drip problem on my trip from West Virginia to Maine via Toronto:

We're back in Ontario then onward to Toronto, Niargra Falls, then home. Except for the oil drip, which was easily fixeed, the trip has been event free. One of the idiot lights on the dash came on today as we were going through Quebec (city) and freaked me out for a moment until I realized it was only the O2 sensor (changed 4,000 miles ago and forgot to hit the switch).

One other (minor) issue was that I started having a problem with gas spurting out of the filler neck when filling up the tank. Also, there is a small drip of gas that comes off the vent line on the driver's side of the tank. But minor since it doesn't seem to be spilling out except when topping it off.

Otherwise, we are having a good time. My wife's grandparents are impressed with the size and comfort of our Van (they wanted to cram 4 adults and 2 kids into a Chrysler Caravan!).

For those of you that were interested in the Bug parts, I have to apologize for not contacting you sooner. When we got to the property, the stuff had been pretty well cleared out. No vehicles are left, only heads, cranks, cases, and a few trannies. We are planning to go back soon and figure out what to do with it. Of course, we have 18 acres outside of Caribou for sale that would be a good starting point if you ever wanted to get into the VW repair business.
