Subject: Axle nuts is nuts is stuck
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Thanks to all those who replied about my axle nut problem. I was fortunate that the Maintenance shop at my place of work happened to have a 'standard' socket and a 4' breaker bar. It fit close enough and I thought I was going to be able to remove the nuts. Now the nuts won't move. I even put a cheater pipe onto the end of the breaker bar giving me at least 5' or so and with my 185 lbs it wouldn't budge. Let's see... that's 185lb x 5'= 925 ft-lbs. Seems like it would have come loose if it was only torqued to 350 ft-lbs. But oh well.

Due to time constraints, I'm going to have to put the wheel bearing replacement off a little while. I suppose I'll daily squirt the nut with WD-40 for the next month. Maybe they'll come loose then. I should be okay for since there are no major noises coming from them, although the passenger side doesn't spin as freely. Of course if anybody has any additional ideas for what I can do, please let me know.
