Many years ago i was driving to South Tahoe when i turned west to 50 from 395 near Carson city. It was blizzard. Zero visibilty and snow piling up quickly. Had to make decision to go or not. We went and it was very slow going, couldn't see nothing in front. Passed several vehicles just parked on the road, owners trying to wait out storm. Made it thru but took forever. Few years ago whole 395 was closed from Mammoth up and i took 6 from Bishop and drove backroads of Nevada to get to North Tahoe. Last year going up Kingsbury grade it was raining but when i got to the top it was ice! Just got over top and even driving very slowly bumped into trailer that stopped on the road for no reason...very little damage though. But had to put chains on. Took 40 minutes freezing hands, thanks to one nice CHP officer who helped me put chains on. 10 minutes later stopped to take chains off... Too bad i couldn't go skiing in Kirkwood right now Leon 85 Subwagen Cruiseship
