I read your post concerning the problem you are having with the headlights/wipers on your Vanagon.

The first response post I think is the correct one, although the others may offer good advice, too.

I have had the same problem in the past on several different Vanagons and double cab pickups.

There are 2 large clusters of ground wire connectors under the dash, above the fuse box. Pull the connectors off one at a time and clean them. Corrosion here will cause the symptoms you describe.
