Subject: 2nd battery relay question...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi Volks,

I just replaced my OEM VW 2nd battery relay with one from Radio Shack. The cost was six dollars (as opposed to the $$$ the dealer wanted).

I removed my front seat, and carefully matched up the wires on my burnt relay, to the appropriate connections on my new one.

One thing I noticed. There is a center connector on my OEM relay, which my new Radio Shack relay does not have. There is a red wire under the seat, but it was not attached to my original relay.

Would anyone know what the center connector on an original relay is for? Do I need it (even tho mine was seeming not attached)? Replacing my relay was a piece of cake ... except now I have one left over wire, I am not sure what it's for.

any comments would be helpful. Thanks, Neil
