Hello all,

My friend's '89 Westy will pull cleanly from 1000 RPM with the oxygen sensor unplugged.  With the oxygen sensor plugged in the engine hesitates and does not have as much power until maybe above 3000 RPM and it seems to rev a lot more quickly.  The problem was worse before O2 sensor replacement to the point that the van would buck and make driving up hills difficult.

Any ideas, oh wise list?  I searched the archives but did see anything that fits his problem.
