Emily,

I toured the factory in Iowa where Winnebago does the conversion on the van for VW last year. They have a really large service department taking care of owners' vehicles, and appear offer service on all the products they have made. You should contact Winnebago directly and ask them for advice in how to deal with this problem.

Also, if you happen to drive through Iowa, just stop by Forest City (central north Iowa) and take the tour of the place, you'll find it interesting.

You can find them on the web easily enough, I'm sure.
