Might be that some kinds, like factory VW ones meant for other vehicles maybe, don't fit. GoWesty has theses custom-made (I believe they're modified Mercedes wheels) and they go lock-to-lock without touching anything.

Now I need South African brakes to put inside those 16" wheels.And a SA grille with decent halogen lights in. And a GoWesty 2.4l wasserboxer. At this rate, I'm never going to have any money again.
