What type of bit, if any, would survive such an ordeal? I guess anything is possible, but within reason, is drilling such a bolt possible?

Obviously, I have never done such a thing, and I am hoping others have, and would provide the opinion and experience so I don't waste my time doing something likely to fail.

Thanks for the space, I appreciate any words of advice.

John . John, Is the hex head stripped? IF NOT: Spray with WD40, Several times, Over the span of Several days. Then hit the head of the bolt square on the flat surface of the top several times. Then see if it will turn. Works for me! :) If the head IS Stripped, Before drilling, can you just cut the hex head off? Often times, this will relieve pressure, and you may even be able to turn it out by hand. Lastly, drilling it out is pretty tricky. You must keep the drill bit centered! You must not cut the threads! Best left to the experts? :) best of luck. John C. SLC, UT...
