There have been Westy poptop VW Vans made over many years that did not have an upper bed. Many European model Vanagon campers have a short poptop with no hope of a bed. Somehow the owners make do and are happy to have the top. Companies there sold bedless poptop addons for thousands of dollars and had plenty of takers. Jeff and Vanagonparts.com says he can still get them. The notion that for a poptop to be desirable it requires an upper double bed is absurd.
