Yes you do have one.... and you also have a thermo time switch http://www.benplace.com/engine/type2profimanual013.jpg , those 2 work together...., if the connection to the TTS is faulty, the CSS doesn't inject fuel... http://www.benplace.com/engine/type2profimanual012.jpg

Also, be sure that the fuel pump relay is working.... on aircooled it does't inject fuel BEFORE you start the engine but at the same time.... http://www.benplace.com/engine/type2profimanual009.jpg

I may be mixed up in years a model, he he he.... i have a 78, a 82, an a 75 in the garage....???? anyway, what i am sure is some Vanagon have a CSS

I will check later today on all van...just to be sure.... what i remember is that the thermo time switch as different shape and location depending on years... and i can also tell you that lately, 2 Bus's had that problem, but only the connector / wire was faulty
