As you must have figured out, you have to remove the rear seat (watch those
side brackets, they can shred the hell out of vinyl of the interior side
panels) or eliminate the portion of the rear heater housing cover which is below the
heater diffuser.  The first time I popped off one of those covers, I was a
purist and I removed the rear seat figuring that the cover would not need to be
removed for a long time.  Obviously, I had forgotten about the bleeder hidden
away in there.

The cleanest way I found to cut off that strip of reinforced plastic is, once
the cover has been removed, with a cutoff wheel chucked into a die grinder.
The quickest way is to carefully cut it with a fine toothed jab saw with the
cover in place.
