We think alike, Eric. That's going to be my approach as well if I decide to go that way, instead of shipping it here and doing the work myself. The cost would work out to be "about" the same as having the work done, flying out there, and driving it back here. If it costs $500 for the clutch, $150 for plane fare and another $100 for gas to Colorado that equates well to $500 to ship it here and $200 or so for parts and my free labor. If I can't get him under $750 then the ship it to Colorado route looks even better.
