Subject: Update--Diesel Westy FS in Denver
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

On Saturday, I went over and took a really close look at this diesel Westy for sale in Glendale.

It has a bent rod. Battery's dead. Both grills are broken. The 4-speed transmission is leaking from both axles and from the nose, somehow. The tires are wrong and flat. The hatch is dented, broken, and impossible to open.

There is rust around the utility inlets, rusted through at the bottom seam there, completely rusted left rear fender, rust in most of the seams, rust around the windshield, rust around the rain gutters, all of the poptop bolts are rusted...Hell, I think there might even be rust on the plastic parts.

The pop top is very, very moldy. The interior is actually in great shape except for a rip in the driver's seat. The radio's broken. The odometer is broken (reads 0000024 miles)

So I was right in my initial reaction, that this thing is too far gone for me to mess with, and too much work to part out.

But it's still for sale and has lots of salvageable parts if anybody's looking!

Joe T.
