Oh why not? I might as well throw my hat into this ring...

If we were all sitting around in person discussing vanagons, a "real
life" list if you will, then my habit of swearing  would probably
raise a few eyebrows. Perhaps the British or Australian eyebrows
wouldn't go up as far.

But this is a mailing list, for goodness sakes. We type out our
messages, its not a spontaneous reply or response in the same way a
verbal exchange is. Simply adding swear words to a message does not
really have the same effect it does as when we speak them aloud.

So if we are going to reclassify the list as PG (and I am sure PG has
some US-centric definition that may not be shared by the rest of the
world), then I implore my fellow list members to put some thought and
imagination into your swearing. Colourful phrases and analogies might
take a bit more time, but is sure a lot more more fun than a plain
old four lettered word.

Well, I'm parched after all this typing, dry as a nun's nasty, need
another cup of coffee.
