RE: Halon Extinguishers

My onboard extinguisher is Halon, bought many years ago for the home. Plus a little hand size Halon extinguisher that sits by the sink when camped. I have a powder extinguisher in the condo, figure the insurance company will pay for the cleanup if it's needed. Plus another of the little hand sized Halon on the counter in the kitchen.

When i wanted to put the Halon in the Vanagon I went to a shop nearby that deals exclusively with such things. I found that the Halon extinguishers could be refilled but at very high cost. And that there was a replacement, Halotron. Don't recall the specifics or the costs. But I ended up buying the powder extinguisher for the house and IIRC it was a dollar based decision.
