Yeah, something like you show on your Picassa link. That would work perfect for me. I recently took another piece of aluminum and cut it to fit between the bracket and the hose clamps, bridging on past the bracket and part way around the muffler...that seems to be helping...it eases the 'sharp' corner the clamps had to endure as they went over the bracket and onto the oval muffler body. My last clamp failure may have been 'stress' left over from being on there without the extra shim..

I'll keep looking. A clamp with material about twice as thick (strong?) as a regular hardware store ss hose clamp would be adequate. I really don't like the idea of having the header attached to the motor and the exhaust pipes attachted to the body....the two move independently of each other as the motor mounts flex, and there is some noise and vibration transfer between the exhaust and the body even through those flexy hangers...I think they got it right when they did the diesel exhaust...but I simply need a way to clamp my 15"X8" oval SS Magnaflow muffler...

I'll find something...even if I have to go to the marine hardware and buy a fancy fire extinguisher mounting bracket or something.. Don Hanson
