Hi .. what does ( N ) mean first of all ?

it's not 'normal' < is that what ( N ) stands for ? > ...that a parts store will charge shipping to get you a part. < why do people write in code ? >

Usually they get them out of their warehouse....whoever they get the stuff from up the chain. Shipping is covered in the price you pay normally. For oddball parts ..sure , some special order deal.

but 'normally' ..they know darn well if they say it's X dollars plus shipping .. you'll go to the next parts store where they don't do that.

You're in Iowa or some mid-west state like that and perhaps you don't have a lot of parts stores. Where I am ... there must be 25 auto parts stores ( plus 20 dealerships at least ) within a 20 mile range. .. All these parts stores are very price conscious .. bit of a problem almost. Most of the home-mechanics want 'low price' as a top priority. That means brake pad sets that cost 12 dollars... When I get there ..I want their best brake pads .. in one case the best Ceramic ones for an AWD Dodge Caravan van ..a long heavy thing ...their best pads where 80 bucks.. and those they might get the next day .. but they don't charge shipping for sure.

( N ) out.
