If Sally were for sale nearby I'd be tempted. The Mopar dog-and-lumber minivan needs a lot of attention and replacement has been discussed. We're not camping this year (move) and does not look like we might (new old house mods and family obligations) so the Westy is doing some commuting, and a nice automatic (getting-old people ankles, knees and hips) in an attractive package like this could easily end up in the new driveway. I'd be seriously tempted, but not for twice the money. I hope this van finds a nice home.

You guys! Sheesh, We are the ones who are talking ourselves into
thinking Vanagons are some kinda valuable rare collector car....US...right
here on Vanagon List. $3k for a minivan of any sort, that old, that is
not that great a deal....It's OK, but a "smokin' deal'? Depends on what
you are smokin...
But hey, if for some reason people are starting to pay really big bucks
for these Vanagons...that's cool with me....When the time comes, (a long
time from now) I can cash mine in and be able to turn the money to a 4wd
Safari with an LT-1 motor, locker tranny and a 5sp..... and spend some
more of the money making a nice powerful sturdy and trouble-free camper van
using really exotic woods and have bomb-proof suspension and drive line
built out .......Or buy a crapped out Sprinter (they'll be around by the
time I get ready to sell my inline tintop westfakia)
If I were in the market today for a Vanagon, I'd be looking hard and
long to find one I thought was worth buying. I certainly wouldn't just
write a check for what people here seem to think they're now worth....Maybe
I have Northwest Vanagon Euni....I see dozens daily and many of them are
rust free beaters being driven with loathing by people who'd rather have a
Camry but can't afford one...
Grin...I am being a troll, I guess.
