I choose amber color so that I could instantly distinguish which auxilliary lights I had on, "fog" or "driving". I know, the beam pattern is very different betwen the two, but the color makes the dsitinction that much greater.

There is already a 1/2" (approx) diameter cable between the battery and starter, so adding an additional 8ga wire here wouldn't add much, (the "alternator" wire is a large cable between the battery and starter and continues to the alternator with smaller wire). Between the starter and alternator, additional wire might be useful, and between the battery and the fusebox and/or fusebox to the lights might also be helpful.

I found room under the instrument cover to mount a pair of relays, one for the fogs and one for the driving lights. It's a handy location if you place the fog light switch in one of the otherwise empty switch positions.
