Vanoganders,

Today I talked with someone about a '90 Vanagon. It ended up being a GL
with manual trans and 72K miles on it. It wasn't what I was looking for,
so I passed. But the conversation brought up an interesting point;
doesn't it seem odd that a vehicle with only 72K miles on it should need
a new clutch? Are Vanagon's that weak in the clutch area that they need
a replacement so early in it's life, or is this another fraudulent case
of an unhooked mileage indicator?

Please advise, oh pillars of infinite Vanagon wisdom.
