Subject: Re: Transporting a vehicle cross-country

I've been through that.... Broke down in the Redwoods of CA. years ago. Overheating and I was clueless to Vanagon repair at the time, so I'm a little bit embarrassed to flippin' out about it and probably paying too much. Anyway...I was also flat broke, so I let a friend keep it until I was able to raise the $750 or so to transport it here to Houston. I just checked the yellow pages under something like Moving or so?

Yeah...I'm sure I walked right into it.

My only advice is to be sure that it's not less expensive to fix it...and drive it. A good cross country trip in a Vanagon is worth it's weight in gold even if you run into problems! Each trip is an adventure for sure.
